Aklilu Tesfaye was born in December 1981 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. He has received his bachelor degree in law (LLB) from Addis Ababa University in August 2006. He has worked as an assistant judge for the Ethiopian Federal Court from 2006 up to 2008. He then joined Abo Akademi University of Finland to acquire his second degree in International Human Rights Law in 2011. He then moved back to Ethiopia and now he is working as a lecturer in Addis Ababa University as a consultant in investment and contract law.
